Dressing for two

There is a wide open gap in the retail industry, for anyone with an eye for business.
Trying to maintain what meager style I had established for myself is retardedly difficult when also trying to cover a 5-month bump. I've searched far and wide - literally, across the globe - for months and it seems there is no market to clothe the ever growing belly.
Pregnant women ( well, me anyway) are usually suffering a bit of a blow to their self esteem as they watch themselves get plumper and more fatigued. Retail therapy is a natural friend to turn to. So far, only Motherhood Maternity has caught on to this. Unfortunately, they live up to their name. Everything you find in that store ages you about 10 years. It's as if they believe future moms should practice slumming down their look. Not to mention one generously priced sweater will lose its shape after a single wear.
Someone told me the H&M downtown had a maternity section. I made a while trip out there, lugged my pregnant ass across the Lion's Gate bridge on a bus, only to snake my way up three levels and to the back of the children's section to find a sad lone rack of silty tents in subdued tones.
So on to Aritzia. I realize they are far too hip to have a maternity section but maybe that's what I need. A few long sweaters and airy ponchos were enough to send me out of the store with bags on each hand. But I still don't like the idea of cloaking myself in moo moos just because of one little bump on my belly. Really, I do have a slender rib cage and a neck.
I don't think I am the only woman with this problem. Men complain that once we become moms we let ourselves go. Well I think a man should put that business mind to work and invest in a line of clothing that a woman will feel a little more awesome in.
